The Guardian’s move into documentary filmmaking has paid off, with the newspaper’s first nomination for an Academy Award.
The Oscar best short documentary nomination is for Black Sheep. The film recounts the experiences of a black boy, Cornelius Walker, who moved from London to Essex, where he had to confront racist attitudes and violence.
The film features interviews with Walker looking back 15 years on from the events he describes, which are re-enacted in the locations where they took place.
