Multiplatform teen service BBC Switch has established itself as a leading Web TV pioneer and it's again showing the way ahead by directly engaging its community for the forthcoming Romeo and Juliet themed online soap, The Cut.
As they ask their audience on the show’s site:
"Come and join in Slink's discussion about the kind of storylines you'd like to see in The Cut."
"We want the show to be amazing, so we'll need your help thinking of cool stuff to put in it. We'll be after feedback and ideas from you on the Cut site once it launches, and we'll be casting for a new character once it's all under way, so keep checking back here for information about how you can get involved."
This approach of getting your community involved early on is exactly what we're recommending to our research clients.
Under Geoff Goodwin, whom we interviewed for The Birth Of Online TV, Switch is consistently launching new online series that experiment with innovative formats.
