MySpace seeks sponsors for teen drama Freak
MySpace has announced that it is looking for sponsors for an eight-week online drama series, Freak, scheduled to launch in 2009. Interactive components to the five-minute episodes include MySpace profiles for characters, as usual, plus Twitter feeds and videos.
This marks a change in approach for MySpace UK, which has been focusing mainly on film-based projects, such as Hammer’s contemporary vampire movie Beyond The Rave.
Little has been heard publicly of the proposed music-based drama I Luv Chieftown, which was in development in 2008. Has the success of The Secret World Of Sam King on Bebo, due to get a second season this year, made it more difficult to find sponsors for another fictional series around music?
MSN seeks sponsors for music show MSN Xclusives
After the debut of sci-fi thriller Kirill late in 2008, MSN is now aiming to expand its portfolio of original shows with live music show MSN Xclusives. A pilot has been made of the planned series, which would centre on live performances and behind-the-scenes interviews, featuring Pussycat Dolls, The Fratellis and Bryn Christopher. Paul Carolan is the agency and client sales director for Microsoft Advertising.
